Hello the community,

I'm developer and I use a library (JasperSoft) to create PDF file multiple pages (sometimes 300 pages). All pages are same size (A4).

Then in my webapp, a user can download the PDF from browser (Chrome by example).

My issue is: how can I tell to the printer (here HP LaserJet PRO) to print a page from different tray.

By example:

page 1 tray 1

page 2 tray 2

page 3 tray 1

...

Because somes pages are normal paper and some others are perforated.

How can I achieve this by example  from simple PDF select right TRAY ?

Is there something standard to achieve this from a PDF file only?

"printers" are out of scope to me im young and not expert 🙂

But this seems to be the issue nowadays from all "profesionnal web apps".

My idea :

On the printer side : config some rules likes  tags with "123" take from tray1 and "456" from tray2.

Then on PDF side on each page developer can "add tag, or  comment, or any information or metadata on each pdf page" that printer can read and select good tray.

To resume my problem is : select different tray for each page of a pdf sent for printing from any source (browser, airprint, email) all info should be saved in page's pdf itself and a config on printer.

Please apologize, if this is crasy 🙂
