64-bit drivers SPECIFICALLY for Windows 7?
08-21-2009 09:24 PM

Has anyone found any websites with drivers specifically for Windows 7 and HP Products? I'm specifically looking for 64-bit drivers for Presario CQ60-215DX.
I know the 64-bit drivers designed for Windows Vista work just fine, but I'm just hoping that new drivers for a new OS could provide some increased functionality...
I have indeed found 64-bit drivers for my graphics card and chipset from NVidia (GeForce 8200M), and a website with nothing but 64-bit software. Here's the links:
http://www.start64.com/index.php
http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_win7_x64_186.03_whql.html
I suppose if you find 64-bit drivers in Windows 7 specifically for other computers, you could maybe post them here for other users?

HP is in the process of developing Windows 7 drivers and they should become available on or about October 22, 2009.
Since general availability of Windows 7 will not be available until then, sit back and relax.

I found quite a few HP and Conexant compatible 64bit drivers here: http://64bitdrivers.com/ - HP & Conexant drivers. I would have a look if you're interested in printer/ display drivers for Windows 7 and Vista. There's been quite an extensive conversation on various techniques trying to get different drivers to work on specific hardware.

It would seem Carey Frisch (Microsoft MVP) was a little optimistic.
It is now December 2010 and I have just purchased a new HP Deskjet 1663 printer that I cannot use with Windows 64 bit OS. Worse still, this is not even indicated on the box. I had to buy the printer, bring it home, waste an hour trying to get it working, repackage it, take it back to the store, and line up for a refund, thereby wasting several hours that I did not have to spare.

Recently bought a B110a All in one printer. 3 weeks ao in fact. Waste of mney that was.Loaded the disc,no problem. Went to scan a document,no go. So far, I've removed and re installed the machine so many times I've lost cont. Still no scanner. The O/S is Windows 7 Home Premium,64 bit. My next machine will NOT be HP unless this is resolved.
