Re: Beats audio and Windows 8

I recently installed Windows 8 Pro (clean installation) on my Envy 15 PC Laptop and also lost the valuable Beats Audio driver/software. I have tried to get it back several times unsuccessfully. HP has yet to have an answer for it.

Re: Beats audio and Windows 8

For Desktops and AIOs, the Beats audio driver is on Windows Update

[Windows Key] --> Control Panel --> View by: Large icons --> Windows Update --> Scan for updates

Re: Beats audio and Windows 8

I figured it out. Go to Hp's website and click on support/drivers. Bring up the windows 7 drivers for your computer (will ask for serial number etc). once you're there, install the IDT audio driver. After installing it, beats is automatically installed. Go to settings (by dragging mouse to the right of the screen), click on control panel and you should see beats audio control panel. click it to open from there. It wasn't opening for me, so I uninstalled the IDT driver, and reinstalled it. and everything is working fine now. I talked to 2 different HP techs and both told me that I had to wait for the windows 8 drivers. But I managed to make it work. Hope that helps!

Re: Beats audio and Windows 8

Do you manage to change the volume clockwise or anti-clockwise to work in the new Beats Audio Control Panel?

Re: Beats audio and Windows 8

Same issue here.  Can't change the control direction.  The UI for that tab shows a scroll bar and no way to save.  Also pushing the Beats Audio button doesn't launch the control panel.

Re: Beats audio and Windows 8

Same here. I wonder when they'll fix this.
