Solved!

G85xi driver for Windows 7

HP Recommended

Trying to get my G85xi working under windows 7.

Is there another / compatible driver I can use that Windows 7 already has? (i.e. another officejet or deskjet driver)

Thank you.

Ok, so here is what I did to fix this:

- Create the printer, chose the generic text printer driver

- Go into the printer properties, click the advanced tab, then update driver.

- Click on the Windows update button. This took over 5 minutes to complete when I ran it, but it downloaded a ton of drivers, including the G85xi driver.

- Select the driver, and hit OK

Thank you HP!  This is a driver for the 64bit Windows 7!

Perfect.

My computer won't let me run 'windows update.' is there any other way to get the driver installed?
