Win 7 driver issue? C6300

HP Recommended

I have a C6300 (wireless all-in-one) that works great with Vista, however, I'm playing with the Win7 RC and am having an odd issue.  The driver installed automatically and I can change all of the settings just like on Vista, but whenever I send a job to the printer, it appears to just disappear into the ether.

Additionally, Win7 seems to not recognize the scan function at all (when I click the scan button on the printer, it tells me to start the scan from the computer).

I realize that Win7 is not a final product and all that, and it appears that the issue probably isn't with HP, but before I posted on a Win7 forum I figured I'd check here first.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Right click on the printer icon and select Properties. Click on the Ports Tab, and check which port is highlighted and check marked and post it here.

Also, scanning from the scan button will only work if you have the full software installed. Try opening scanners and cameras in Control Panel, and see if the scanner icon is there. If it is, then open Windows Photo Gallery, click on File>Import from Scanner or Camera, and you can scan it this way.

Thanks for the response.  After reading it I forgot that I hadn't tried connecting the printer directly to the computer via USB.  I did that and got a print job to work as well as a scan job (via Photo Gallery).  However, once I unplugged the USB and switched the port back to the wireless connection (as requested, it's 192.168.2.4, Standard TCP/IP Port), print jobs disappear again and the computer no longer recognizes the scanning function.

Did you check which port was selected for the printer icon? Also, do you have multiple printer icons for this printer?

Yes, the port that is highlighted is 192.168.2.7, description Standard TCP/IP Port.  There were two icons, one popped up after I connected via USB, but I removed that device.  I have also removed the main (wireless connection) device and reinstalled, which is why there is now a slightly different IP address.  Same thing, Win7 downloads what appears to be the correct driver, but no print jobs get completed.

DexterM: I have the very same problem.  C6300 printer on Win 7.  Drivers seem to load but print jobs go into the ether.  The port is "standard TCP/IP Port" 192.168.1.8.  any advice?

You need to disable bidirectional support for this product.
