windows 7 64 bit instead of 32

Hi everybody!

I want to upgrade my pavilion dv6 1212sl from windows vista home premium 32 bit to windows 7 home premium 64bit.... can I? I want to know if is possible to have this upgrade trough the hp upgrade program, also with an over-price...

Hi,

You bought this model with Vista 32 bit so You can get only Win7 32 bit version from upgrade program.

This page would indicate that the 32 bit keys are interchangable with 64 bit versions.  You would have to do a clean install, a direct upgrade from 32 to 64 bits is not supported.

and a clean install is not possible with the upgrade program, is it?

but if I use a 32 bit OS on my 4 Gb RAM  pc.... I don t use all my memory... 😞
