HP Notebook 14-dq1039wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop was working fine when I closed it but the next time I opened it to use, the display screen was black.  I've adjusted the brightness but there's no change.  in order to use it, I have connected it via HDMI cable to another screen.  I have tried everything I know to do (which isn't too much since I'm not a techy person).  Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

Notebook works fine on the alternate monitor.

so, most likely an LCD failure.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
