HP Envy
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am using windows 10 ( not sure if 32-bit or 64) no an HP Envy that I got for Christmas. My computer is locked down to “stop illegal activity”. Says it has been infected with a Trojan Spywate. Says not to attempt to shut down or restart computer because it “may lead to data loss and identity theft”. Gives me  a number to call Microsoft support. I called but did not feel comfortable so I hung up. I felt it is a scam.

is this a scam? What do I do to get rid of this and unlock my computer? My mouse and keyboard are locked so I cannot do any of the suggestions I have seen.

Since the computer is infected by Trojan, I suggest you perform a System Recovery
