HP Stream 11
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I wanted to reset my computer to get it to run faster. I've done this three times before but for some reason it won't let me reset anymore. Everytime I try to do it the computer gives me an error saying there was a problem and no changes were made. When I try to start it up and go back it just gives me a black screen with a cursor on it. Could anyone help me? Or is this truly broken?

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP Stream 11 laptop. I read that you tried t initiate a reset on the laptop to make it work faster. But the laptop gives an error saying there was a problem and no changes were made. The laptop does not boot up and displays a black screen with cursor on it.

  • Please let me know the exact product model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
  • Why did you reset the laptop 3 times previously?
  • Has the laptop always been working slow?

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop. Immediately hit the f11 key (7-8 times) to boot to the recovery partition.

If the issue still persists then please follow the HP step by step troubleshooter guide to fix the issue.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂
