Product: hp6500A plus printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am having trouble with getting my printer to send a document by wireless fax and/or to scan a document and send the document to the HP Omni100 PC so I can attach the document to an email

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding assistance on how to set up digital fax and how to scan? I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:

    • Did you check the printer’s user manual regarding this?

For now, try these steps:

  • Digital fax: for this refer to pages from this link: http://hp.care/2ueAm1E  1,5,56,57,175 and 232 in this regard for further assistance.
  • For scanning refer to pages 40-42 of the same user manual.
  • For further assistance make sure to check this link: http://hp.care/2CCAKXY (HP Printers - How to Scan (Windows)

    Check these options out:
  • How do I perform a first-time scanner setup?
  • How do I scan documents or photos into the computer?
  • How do I save multi-page documents or multiple photos into a single PDF file?
  • How do I scan to email?
  • How do I save a scan as an editable text file?
  • How do I change the default folder scans save to?

This should do the trick for you.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient.
