Spectre X360 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased an HP Spectre x360, 15in model from Bestbuy in the black friday sale. Suddenly the left speaker of my laptop stopped working. It makes a crackling noise when a vedio/audio is played and then goes silent. I have looked up the internet and found similar issue with a lot of spectre laptops out there. I did a bios update, uninstall and reinstall the sound driver and everything mentioned in the posts that I found. Nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions? or should I just return the laptop to HP?

Dear Barachiel,

I have tried doing everything that you have mentioned and even those you didn't. external speakers, headphones, earphones and all work fine. Even the right speaker is ok but its just the left speaker which is such a nightmare. totally frustrated, I had to return such a beautiful piece of laptop to Bestbuy because they wont replace it. Its such a shame that a premium laptop like spectre doesn't go through quality control. Flagship device with faulty hardware is not at all acceptable. I'm done with HP and won't buy their products again.
