My laptop is HP pavillion 15-cs2082 which is I5 8th gen(256gb SSD, MX250 NVIDIA GPU)..newly brought...I am facing some lag issue while opening programs.. and facing frame drops in some games..I am confused that if I have brought a defected one..I haven't updated my windows to 1903 and my friends told me that this is because of that! So I wanted to confirm from the professionals about that..aur their is some particular reason...If their is any way to get my model confirmed, is original or not! Please help me out!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
They computer what you have is not a gaming laptop and it doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card to play games. However, as you have mentioned that you are facing performance issues when opening applications I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
Follow the steps in the below article to update the BIOS.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
If you continue facing the issue, follow the below steps and perform a system test on the computer.
- Turn on the computer.
- Immediately press the f2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the UEFI menu opens.
When the UEFI menu opens, select the diagnostic test you want to run, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
NOTE: If you need to stop a diagnostic test, press esc.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
