Hi, I have an envy 15 laptop thats runs on win8.1 but upgraded to win10. I created a Recover media a long time ago (win10 already installed) now, i did a recovery with the DVDs i created, but on the second disk, it went on an Error, stating that "The destination drive is not connected", so the recovery of win10 failed, then i tried to recover from original factory state..
question: is it still possible to recover the win10 OS? can instill use the DVDs i created as Recovery media?

Hi:
You can always clean install W10 by using the media creation tool to create a bootable USB installer.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
When you get to the part of the installation menu that asks you to enter a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

i tried to the download tool.. thanks for that.. however, when i bought my laptop, it was on Win 8 Pro edition, and when i did the free upgrade it was on Win 10 Pro edition, but earlier when i restore, it went to Win 8.1 Single edition, and then Win10 home edition...
will it be possible to get the Pro edition again ?

You're very welcome.
If had a digital license or product key for W10 Pro, see the link below for how to upgrade back to W10 pro...
