VVX IP 250

BT are in the process of "updating" my existing phone line to "Cloud" and I have been given by BT a VVX250 handset which is connected to my BT router and has been powered up and tested by BT.

The problem is that my previous BT telephone system comprised three wired telephones (1 in my office, 1 downstairs and one by my bedside)

This is what I need as a minimum.

BT have quoted me for extra licences and several VVX 250 handsets at an eyewatering monthly rental charge which is ridiculous.

Is it possible for me to purchase 1 x Poly VVX D230H base station and severall slave units and connect them to my router and achieve a working system similar to the one that I previously had?

Please help.

Hello @Pipp1 ,

welcome to the HP Poly community.

From our VoIP FAQ I would recommend you look at this post:

May 04, 2016 Question:Are there any known VVX D60 Wireless Handset Limitations or how do I pair a D60 to a VVX?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above may be the easiest solution as this keeps the VVX 250, which I assume would be configurable via the BT Platform, and adds DECT to the system.

Check with BT if this is a supported solution as the VVX D230 is running ObiHai Software which may not be compatible with the BT Platform or may even be blocked.

As usual with Community forums, any detail provided is at your own risk and more details can be found in the FAQ around the community.
