Hello,
I have the exact same issue with my 4 day old HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb040nd.
It's a great machine but the first day i already had to do a complet HP recovery twice to get this solved.
After the recovery all woks fine and after the login, the screen turns on fast.
Then, without any known reason, after some time when i do a restart and login to Windows, the laptop takes longer at the welcome screen an then goes complete blank with a cursor for about 8 minutes.
The only thing that works is taskmanager trough Ctrl alt del.
After 8 minutes the screen turns on without any error messages.
I performed a chkdsk /f /f /x but no errors.
Did a system restore but the problem still exist.
Installed the latest Intel 630 graphic driver but still the same problem.
Checked the registry for Run or RunOnce but no strange loading of drivers or software there.
I updated the Bios to the latest version F10.
Right now i have this issue again and am doing the Recovery for the fourth time now so this is very annoying!!
The only thing i can do is to avoid restarting the laptop but after a windows update or after a sofware installation i don't have that choice and have to wait for 8 minutes after login.
Update1 : After a new install everything went fine for an hour and then the same problem again and now i notice that when i logoff and logon again, the 8 minute problem with blanc screen after login did not go away!
Update2 : I've created a local account to check if my microsoft account could be corrupt but also with the local account, the 8 minute blanc screen problem after login.
What could be the cause of this problem?
Thank you.
