I bought this laptop about 1.5 years ago, with the intention of upgrading it with an SSD in the future. Before purchasing it, I asked a sales associate if I could upgrade the laptop with an m.2 SATA HD, and it was confirmed that I could. Also if I bring up the service manual for my laptop, it does indicate that an m.2 SATA can be installed.
I recently decided to purchase an SSD online to use as a boot drive since there was a sale. Today I opened up the laptop to install in, only to find out there is no connector as indicated. If I would have known, and wouldn't have been misled by the sales assocaite, I would have purchased another model to ensure that I was able to upgrade.
Obviously I am now out of warranty, and I can no longer return the laptop. I'm very dissapointed in HP as this should be indicated in the service manual, which you would expect to be updated with the correct information.
