Hello, everyone,

My Zbook 15 (Gen. 1 "Base model") has no DVD player in its expansion bay. To play DVD-rom, I use an external USB drive from Asus. The optical disks are then normally readable from the OS.

But the machine cannot boot from this USB CD/DVD drive, regardless of the port it is plugged into. For example, it is not possible to boot the machine from the original Windows 7 DVD. The DVD does not appear in the list of bootable devices offered by the BIOS at boot time.

Of course, I have already tried every available BIOS boot setting, and verified that Boot Secure was disabled, with no results. Similarly, the machine cannot boot from a memory stick either.

I will try to update the BIOS, but without much conviction.
