This is a weird problem so bear with me as I explain.

This issue started over a year ago when my WiFi adapter stopped working. I checked the Device Manager where the adapter was nowhere to be seen. I rebooted to see if it was something temporary, and after a couple reboots the adapter was working again. But the problem had just begun, and the adapter continued to stop working and would sometimes come back to life. It went like this for a while when the adapter completely stopped working. I needed my laptop at the time so rather than giving it to the service, I bought a USB WiFi adaptor and used that for a while. And one day the adapter magically started to work again, so I never gave the laptop to the service. All was fine for a long time, but the adapter started to go off and on again, and now it is completely off (and the USB adapter is not cutting it for me). Aaand the 2-year warranty is over, so I want to fix this myself.

Now I'm pretty sure that the problem is hardware related, so I opened up the case to see if something looked wrong with the WiFi adaptor, but I couldn't see anything wrong.

Anyone have any ideas about what the problem could be?
