I am totally new in HP forum and in M.2 field. I am OK with PC building and upgrading and would say know what i am doing ...most of the time. Just purchased 2 items - PCIe x 16 NVMe Adapter for SSD card and a corresponding SSD 500GB card. Installed as a secondary storage, activated it in Win 10 disk management console. I can now see it as a fully attached and fuctional HDD. However I wanted to have this NVMe card as a boot device and cloned my existing boot drive to SSD card.
Went into BIOS to find and enable this one as a 1st boot device but could not find it anywhere. Disconected original boot drive but again could not see it in the BIOS. Tried to update BIOS but after installing from window 10 (went OK with no errors), and after reboot at start up screen is still showing the same old BIOS version.
Next I left only M.2 card in the PC and tried to have new Win 10 installation. WIn 10 picked up drive properly (despite BIOS still did not detected it), and installed Win 10 until first reboot without any problems. Unfortunately at reboot BIOS again could not find and load the M.2 SSD to finsh Win 10 install. Loading back Win 10 from my original boot drive i can still see M.2 drive as a functional storage.
Unfortunately all this defeate the purpose to get fastes device on my PC as a boot drive.
Please can you anybody with your experience and advice.
