Is it just me, or does everyone find that HP Support Assistant driver and software update is pants?
BIOS update was offered many times after it was successfully installed.
Many updates use a command line mechanism whose process often fails to launch at all, or launches in a window that is hidden by the active window, but requires a key-press to continue.
Many updates fail to install and require multiple attempts. Installing them individually, rather than selecting ALL seems to help.
Many updates are offered repeatedly, even though they are successfully installed already.
My sister's HP Pavilion laptop has exactly the same issues, so I'm sure it's not just me, but I feel like a rant.
Feel free to join in, it's possible though unlikely that HP might take notice 🙂
