HP Omen 15 (2018)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since getting my HP omen laptop my computer would consistently get hot. Very hot. In fact a week into use and the CPU would regularly get to 100 degrees Celsius. I tried various methods of cooling it down, alas to no avail. It seemed to be a common issue with HP omen laptops, however I saw no one in the community getting the temperatures I was getting. Regardless, I eventually dismissed it, hoping it was normal and would cause no long-term damage.

10 months of using the laptop and I begin to see the performance of the computer take a dip. Games aren't running as they used to, and generally the laptop is severely under-performing where it shouldn't. I figured this is a side effect of it getting to boiling temperature on the daily.

I realise I have around a months warranty left, so I'm immediately doing a warranty check online: expired. It says the laptop was bought in 2018 (I assume this is the distributor buying from the manufacturer), so I dispute this. It says it'll take roughly a day for a response to come in. It's been almost a week and I've gotten no response.

I wouldn't be acting so quickly in a situation like this, but since I only have a month left I don't want to miss my opportunity to get a repair on the way. I looked on the questions and it seems like those who post on here seem to get a response within 24 hours, so I'm putting this here hoping for some kind of response.

Also, just to clarify: I have opened the back of my laptop to install a stick of RAM, but this was after the computer was under-performing (I thought another stick of ram would help speed up performance). I read on a QnA that this is completely fine to do on HP Omen laptops and doesn't void the warranty, but I'm just double checking here!

Thanks,

Ollie.
