Hi,
I'm really tired of the fact (and frustrated) that HP doesn't offer custom fan curves as an option in the omen command center. What kind of gaming laptop doesn't offer custom fan curves? It just baffles me since almost every other manufacturer does. Worse yet other utilities are blocked and don't work, such as MSI afterburner and speed fan.
Will this feature ever be available? If I had access to the source code I could probably add this feature in a couple of days. Its not like its hard conceptually. Simply have a GUI with a datagrid bound to a list that lets you type in temperature vs fan speed. Then setup a timer to poll the temperature sensor every 0.5 seconds. Then during the timer elapsed event, simply search for the closest temperature in the list, get the corresponding fan speed, and set the fan speed to that value. At my job this kind of thing would be like an intern's first project. If HP programmers want to be really lazy, they can just set the different performance modes based on a temperature. Add a textbox beneath each mode. So i could set high performance mode < 50 degrees, casual < 75 degrees, and cool temp mode >= 75. Its easy and lets you get that automatic fan ramp up at high temperatures. I am kind of lashing out here, but its because i'm a programmer and I know how easy this is. Please just add this freaking feature or pay me to add it for you. Or just make omen command center open source so any high school student could add the feature as a learning exercise.
