Office Jet 6962
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a 2.5-year-old HP Office Jet 6962printer. Two weeks ago I got a paper jam error message. I checked the printer and there was not a paper jam. I pushed ok and the printer went into maintenance mode. After that, I was able to print. Today the same thing happened, but I am unable to print because some new error messages came up after printer maintenance. The first message says that the printer was not shut off properly. Which isn't true. I then got a printer failure message and I am to turn the printer off ad then on and if the problem persists that I need to contact HP. I chatted online with someone from HP and they said that I need to have my printer serviced. Is there anything that I should do because I can't afford a new printer at the moment and I know shipping and repairs will probably cost more than a new one.

P.S. Yes I went through all of the troubleshooting tips from the HP support page.
