My laptop has a intel core i5-8300H and a GTX 1050ti. The cpu boosts up to 3.98 GHz according to task manager when plugged in and it is stable at that speed when idle. Lately I have been experiencing slower speeds when plugged in and my speed goes from .89 GHz to 3.4 GHz when plugged in. I to music producing and gaming with this laptop and I haven't been able to since the cpu slows down when plugged in. I have replace the AC adapter and that didn't work, I have updated the BIOS and that didn't work, and I have updated drivers and that didn't work. When I am ever not plugged in the cpu speed stays around 3.6 to 3.9 GHz. I also went into the high performance power plan and changed the maximum processor state to 100%, but that didn't work either. I'd love a solution to this! Thanks!
