I cannot seem to get the Thunderbolt working on this machine  

 

I have 

1) used 3 other devices to attempt to charge (1 Dell port replicator, 1 Dell usb-c dedicated charger and 1 Off brand port replicator) 

2) On the advice of support sent in my laptop to HP to have it 'repaired' (took a month got it returned and it would still not charge via usb-c)

3) once it still did not work was told that those devices were the actual problem (as they were not 'compatible') not the hardware that was replaced (ugh) advised to get one of several HP docking statins of which the USB-C Dock G4 above was included. and this one does not work either

 

Anyone know how one gets the Tunderbolt charging working on this machine??
