I've encountered an issue where my new PC won't wake from sleep. It twice has happened when I let it sleep overnight and it wouldn't response either to keyboard or pressing the power button. Two days ago I needed to force reboot it by holding the power button. Yesterday it wouldn't even turn off by holding the power button for 10 seconds. The case lighting was still on and fans were spinning. The power button being non-responsive indicates to me that it must be a motherboard issue. After pulling the plug (oof, I know) it booted fine with a push of the power button.
My first thought was to check if there is a new BIOS. I am currently on BIOS F.05 according to HP Support Assistant. System board = 8876, aka Hana. I found the support page for the board but no BIOS file to be found. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07052271
Contacting HP support isn't loading for me after I select the product, I'll try to figure that out later.
1) Where are BIOS update files for this motherboard? Under the assumption that there is a new version and it's the obvious thing to try first.
2) Any idea what might cause my PC to not wake from sleep and even make the power button non-responsive? The only things I can think of are BIOS issue, or problem with the RAM I added. Two sticks of Crucial DDR4-3200 in slots 1 and 2 which have slightly different timings than the Kingston stick that came with the PC (I moved that one to slot 3) but I'd think should play ok together regardless
