Envy 15
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Envy 15 laptop regularly has to have the BIOS reset to default after failing to start.  Getting 2 flashes on the Caps Lock LED.  I have fixed the problem by removing and replacing the CMOS battery several times.  This time, the systems fails to start and continues to flash the code even after resetting BIOS to default by removing the battery.  I thought the factory default copy of the BIOS was in non-volatile RAM, so it shouldn't be corrupted, should it?
