ok so for a while now, almost for about 6 months, i haven't been able to shut my laptop normally?

the power options aren't available and i have to use keyboard shortcuts to sign off and then shut down from the login page

in the meantime, my laptop updates from windows 10 to 11 but the problem persisted

how can i resolve this
