EliteBook 8570w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi HP community,

I would like to upgrade 8570w with SSD mSATA drive but I can't figure out a way how to boot from mSATA since 1) this drive is not recognized by BIOS and 2) there's no option to choose mSATA as a boot drive.

Is it BIOS firmware related problem?

Does also connected HDD and/or CD/DVD cause problems?

I have really important data on dying HDD which I'd have to replace as soon as possible so I'd like to have both (msata & sata hdd) storage drives connected.

If it's not possible to make mSATA drive accessible and/or bootable through BIOS upgrade or modification, should I consider eSATA or USB3.0 drive as a primary (boot and app) drive to increase the performance of the laptop?

All the best,

BC
