I find it inexcusable that modern HP laptops such as (Omen 15 2T3A6AV) have no battery charge limit, that is user cannot set a state-of-charge (SoC) to a certain percentage to slow down battery degradation. This is a shortcoming that surely will cause unnecessary wear and device failures. Also, I find it sad that tickets complaining about this problem (which it is) on this forum are getting "solved" with solution literally as "no solution" - how does that even make sense?

Ultimately, these devices are fire hazards as lithium-ion batteries release explosive gases (hydrogen) when degrading - but limiting SoC to ~70 very effectively protects li-ion batteries from degradation.

My question is:

Are these complaints actually filed as actual official change requests (as they should be!) or just "solved" and forgotten?
