I am looking to swap the 128 GB SSD (presumably made by Samsung) that came installed on my laptop with a 500GB model (a Crucial P3). When I swapped the drive out, I pressed f11, hoping to enter the recovery menu and install Windows from the recovery partition that is on the 1TB HDD in my system. Instead, I got an error saying a boot device could not be found. I did verify the SSD works by installing it in my desktop, so I have functioing hardware. Can I not install Windows using the recovery partition, and need to make a recovery USB key to do this with HP's built in tool? Or, is this Crucial SSD not compatible with my laptop for some reason?
