HP Color LaserJet 1600 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer does not print red (magenta) very well, or at all during normal operation

I have tried cleaning the lenses as has been suggested and I have had no improvement.

In addition I have used the printer's built in options to clean and calibrate the colors and printer. I have also tried a reset of the printer by holding the red and green buttons on the front when I turn it on to re-initialize it.

Strangely when I try printing the built in demo page the nutcracker and motorcycle show up Red. In addition if I print the supply status page I get a red line that fades in from the left and is vibrant red on the right side of the bar. If I print the self test / configuration page I get no red anywhere except a very faint red in about the center of the page on the bottom of the page where the colors print independent lines. Finally the HP print and scan doctor program's test page printed a faint but clearly visible red in all 3 shades.

I suspect this could be an mirror alignment problem or firmware problem but I am at a loss what to do next. help?
