I have been having problems with my HP Envy notebook's keyboard since I purchased it in January of this year. It stops working over a period of time, and I have to reboot the computer sometimes, several times within an hour, in order to use it. I have sent it out to HP several times, and the keyboard and motherboard have been replaced, but still, it keeps happening.
I have recently discovered that the majority of the times when the keyboard stops working is after I have used the down arrow key repeatedly when scrolling on a webpage. I have tried adjusting the keyboard sensitivity and playing with the scroll lock, but none of this works, or if it does, not for a long period of time. I have updated the BIOS as well.
I am able to still use the mouse pad if that helps.
Is there anything that I am missing? Why is the down arrow causing the rest of the keyboard to shut down?
