Greetings,
I recently found that my power was being drawn from the battery, even though it was plugged in. I think this has been happening since day one, but I was not using any power taxing programs at the time. When I saw that this was happening I decided to find a way to fix it. One suggestion was to:
- Turn off the Laptop
- Unplug everything
- Remove the battery (mine was an internal battery)
- press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
- place the battery back in and turn it back on.
I did as such and turned it back on. It turned on, the screen stayed dark (off), fans ran loudly as if stuck in some process, and caps and num lock blinked five times and the computer. It seemed like it was stuck trying to turn on, since when you turn on most computers the fans blow a little and then turn off and the computer boots up. In this case the fans keep blowing and the computer never boots up, only stays on.
Here are some other things that I have tried:
- Realized that I had some things still plugged in. I took them out, repeated the above process, and still nothing.
- I removed the battery and only used my AC adapter plugin. Although the laptop still did not work, it seems that my power draw problem was fixed- it will now run using a plug in only... not exactly useful now that my computer does not turn on.
- I tried pressing F10 repeatedly and no screen ever showed up, as if it was stuck in booting up mode.
- I removed the RAM and waited a little, and then placed it back in.
Nothing so far, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
