Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I print infrequently and color cartridges are constantly failing/drying up and causing error messages.  I want to print in black only 97% of the time and abandon the error prone color capabilities.   Can I override the error messages and print in black only?  If so how?   Please don't tell me to change the setting in preferences to print in greyscale or black as that does nothing to disable the color cartridge errors which for whatever reason prevents the plotter from working.
