HP Recommended

My charger recently broke so I bought a new one, and by the time it came in my laptop was dead. Now, it won’t turn on or even charge, no lights are on, and I’m not sure what the problem is. The charger is brand new and I’m sure the outlet works, but I haven’t had any problems before now. I’ve tried holding the power button to drain residual charge, but nothing has changed.
