There was an earlier thread regarding this issue but had an additional question. I am looking to upgrade my desktop processor to meet standards for Windows 11 compatibility. I have a Ryzen 7 Pro 2700x (replacing a Ryzen5 PRO 2400g) which when installed will not POST. After much searching I finally figured out the "g" designation on the processors indicates built in graphics. So the 2700x does not have built in graphics. Looking at the HP docs, it indicates the baseboard will support the Ryzen 7 Pro 2700x. I was looking at the Ryzen 5 3400g but the previous post on this site had an answer saying the Elitedesk 705 series will not support the 3 series Ryzen chips. I am trusting that is correct so holding off on buying and returning a processor.
My question is, can I run the 7 PRO 2700x and add a video card to meet the needs?
