Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been having some issues with the network connection dropping from a couple USB-C G5 Docks and I would like to update the firmware on them as I've seen record of this being a solution to a known issue in the past.

I've only recently inherited these devices and have no idea what firmware they're on currently, and the post that details the firmware upgrade as a solution was from 2021. I'd like to just upgrade both docks to the latest firmware available but whenever I try to go to the support page for the dock I get redirected to a 404 error. I've tried different browsers and different PCs.

Is it possible to get a direct link to the latest firmware or to have HP look into and fix this page so I can download it directly? This is the normal version of the Dock I'm looking for, not the "essential" version.

Hello @JAYG85

If you have the classic USB-C G5 dock, please download and install all these 3:

RealTek LAN network driver 10.59
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149001-149500/sp149176.exe

USB-C Dock G5 firmware 1.0.18.0
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp146001-146500/sp146273.exe

Audio driver 6.3.9600.205
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96501-97000/sp96688.exe

Just for the records... if you have the newer USB-C Essential G5 dock, please download and install all these 4:

RealTek LAN network driver 10.59
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149001-149500/sp149176.exe

USB-C Essential Dock G5 firmware 01.00.09.00

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149501-150000/sp149576.exe

Audio driver 6.3.9600.2337

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp143501-144000/sp143914.exe

Audio firmware 03.05.00

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp143501-144000/sp143916.exe

Reboot the computer when all the installation completes.

If the network drop continues, the dock must be connected/cable plugged in . Go to Start button -> Device Manager -> Network adapters -> right click on the Realtek -> Properties

In the driver properties, in the "Advanced" tab - find and set to DISABLE

  • Selective suspend
  • Idle power savings
  • Energy-Efficient Ethernet

Apply / Save / Close.

Unplug/plug/Reconnect the dock and you should be good then.

Hope this helps

HP has a few products call HP USB-C G5. Looks like you asking for  driver page of HP USB-C Gen 5 (5TW10AA). Well, HP may remove the dock driver page. I could not find it.

Regards.
