I was setting up my new printer and I couldn't do it on my own. I connected HP.123.com and they put me through to MICRO TECHLINES or [Personal Information Removed] or whatever company they want to go by.
They said that my computer probably had malware and I needed it cleaned up to get the printer set up. It would cost me $199. If they couldn't fix it then I wouldn't have to pay. I already went through this with another HP printer and bought a new printer. The first time spent about 20 hours with the techs and they couldn't fix the problem. I end up going through it again. The tech has me share my screen and they can get into my computer.
The tech is on the phone with me and I get several different calls. I didn't notice until now they were all different numbers. They end up setting up my printer to work from my phone not my computer. I didn't realize what they did. Then tell me that my computer and all my devices are at high risk. Then sell me a $499 protection package but wouldn't take a credit card and became upset I wanted to pay that way. I bought into it and pay through my checking account. My printer doesn't work and I'm out $500 . HP your printer is going back to Amazon and I will be leaving a nice review on how you bait and switch your customers.
The phone number on the invoice no longer works. I called the company and they would not give me a refund.
