I purchased an HP Laptop for college, and received a $50.00 rebate check for the purchase. Unfortionatly, I don't have a banking account and have to go to Wal Mart check cashing, or another check cashing service to cash this check. I have never had a problem cashing any check until now. No one is willing to cash this check because there is information missing on the check. One place tried calling HP rebate support to get the information, and was told they were just a call center and couln't help. Another place called HP to just get a physical address for HP, and was told HP didn't have a physical address to give. I have spoken with several people including supervisors regarding this issue, and NO ONE is willing to help. I keep getting told the check is mine now, and it's no longer HP's problem. This is terrible customer service. I bought this particular laptop because of the rebates, but the rebate is useless to me. The last time I called HP, the supervisor told me the check cashing place can call them, and they would be more than happy to assist with getting the check cashed, but when the check cashing place called, HP was not willing to assist. My question is, how do I get this check cashed if I don't have a checking account, and HP rebate customer service isn't willing to help the person willing to cash the check for me?
