Hi

ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!! I have been trying to order a part from HP for over 6 weeks and no one will help me!!! Back in September 2011 I called HP looking for a replacement fan on a HP 2230SA (which is less than 2 years old) .........The support person would not help me unless I paid £15 for support (I refused as I wanted a part number which I was going to purchase from them!!!!) I have never come across a company that charges customers for part numbers and to place an order. The support person was shockingly TERRIBLE!!!! After being transferred 16 times I finally got through to someone in Glasgow that said what was happening to me was terrible and said she would escalate.

I got through to a guy called Simon Clark in the escalation team and the first thing he said was that he would look to find me the part number and call me back asap. Simon called within the hour and said that he knew somewhere where I could get the part number. He gave me the address of a website and explained that they sell the part. The website he gave me is notorious for stealing credit card details and never sending parts!!! I know this website very well as I know alot of people that have been ripped off by the website in the past. I asked Simon please tell me you didn't go into google and type dv7 and fan and replacement and get that site. He replied that he did. I explained to Simon how terrible the site is and that its not very professional to recommend websites that are scamming websites. He wasn't too happy. I then asked Simon what was the next step and he replied that that was it. No more help no more escalation. I had reached the height of the escalation process.

I called HP headquarters in County Kildare Ireland and got the address of the MD for the region. I have sent a letter to them explaining the way that they do business. I haven't as of yet received a reply.

If anyone can help please can you confirm if the part number I require for the fan is HP Part number 518946-001 or 518945-001. The first number I got from the actual fan in my system but when I try to order it anywhere n oone can find it.

I have purchased and recommended HP products for over 10 years, I will never buy another again as the way I have been treated is appalling. Infact I worked for HP on contract terms a few years ago!!!!!

I just need a part number and I shouldn't have to pay to confirm it!!!!!!

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for Hewlett-Packard.
