Couple of things to check:

1. Make sure the line sensor mounted on the printhead carriage is clean. A dirty sensor can reduce the ability of it to find edge of page.

2. Clean the carriage encoder strip. This is the mylar strip the extends across the width of the print carriage and is used by the printer to determine location of the carriage. Over time this strip gets polluted with ink mist and causes sensor failure. This is cleaned by using a soft lint free cloth damped with water and 2 drops of alcohol. Use alcohol very sparingly as the strip can be easily damaged with too much alcohol as there is a printed grid on the strip that can get rubbed off it you use too much alcohol. Rub  gently until cloth does not show ink.
