I've been trying to follow your directions at [FAQ] How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Downgrade Software? to update my 335 phone but it just sits and flashes initializing network.

I've pointed the provesioning server to both the 3cx server and an ftp server to download the files and it just sits there and doesn't try to connect until after you are trying to reboot it and then it will log on to the FTP server briefly.

I believe the issue is that the boot loader is not the correct version, but I cannot get the phone to login to update the bootloader.

BootBlock: 3.0.2.0024

Updater: 5.0.7.1284

Sip Application Version Rev: 4.0.7.2514

Please help

Hello jdflyer,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

UC Software 4.0.7 is already the latest supported Version for your SPIP335 if you are using SIP and not LYNC.

I would suggest you setup a syslog server to get the logs of the phones. Most likely your issue is caused by a local firewall preventing the FTP server.

I don't think it's a firewall issue as everything is all plugged into the same switch behind the fireware.

So I tried to reset to the very begining and am still having issues:

Reset Local Config

Reset Web Config

Reset Dev Settings

REBOOT

Format File System

REBOOT

Provisioning Server

DHCP Menu

Server Type:FTP

ServerAddr:192.168.101.20

Server User and PW (per FAQs)

REBOOT

Phone Logs onto FTP server Downloads and Installs

Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_7_release_sig_combined

REBOOT

Loads Application

Running "sip.id"

Welcome Screen with S/N and version 4.0.7.2514

and then it sits there stating Initializing network

Hello jdflyer,

if it can successful download the firmware it will also be able to upload its own logs. Please consult the logs for further troubleshooting.

It looks like it is trying to download an .sip file and .cfg file.  However I'm not sure why this would prevent the phone from initializing the network.

See attached Log

Hello jdflyer,

Following the Provisioning Instructions step by step and leaving your 3CX server aside should allow you to provision the phone and boot it succesfully.

In regards to your question what files the phone downloads and why I can only recommend community's VoIP FAQ as it contains this post here:

Mar 08, 2013 QuestionWhat files does my phone download or upload and why?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.

The Phone in questions was sold back in may 2012 via 8x8 so they are the reseller you require to contact for any first level support.
