Hi,
I've looked around a lot and I can't find any information regarding VVX setup with Openscape pabx. I've setup a couple of VVX 400 phones for testing - voice and most features are working fine but I cannot get the BLF feature to work. I've tried the BLF programming through the Lines in the web interface, Buddies feature and static BLF by manually editing the config files. But still I get no lamp or icon indication that the monitored user is on a call - speed (push button to call) is working fine though.
I have also monitored the sip messages form the devices and do not see a SIP status request.
any advice greatly appreciated....

The phone doesn't send a SIP NOTIFY for BLF . It is supposed to send a SUBSCRIBE with the event of PRESENCE in it and the server is supposed to Respond with a NOTIFY with event of PRESENCE . Are you seeing this ? Can you attach a packet capture from the phone and server ?

Thanks Karthik,
I can see the subscribe from Polycom. I can't see any event presence details in the meassage and only get a "489 bad event" returned from the Unify pabx see both in attached...

Hello Kr101,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Aug 06, 2013 Question: How can I use the Buddy Watch feature?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
and
Nov 4, 2011 Question: How can I setup a Busy Lamp Field / BLF with an Digium Asterisk SIP Server?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
I have not personally tested against a Unify switch but what we do is pretty standard SIP stuff.
The above FAQ's should provide enough details on how to troubleshoot this.
You are correct about the Subscribe but as I have not seen any configuration you used its hard to provide any advise.
Unify is not an officially tested or supported switch so you kind of need to find out yourselves.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

I have reviewed the messages . I see the phone is sending a SUBSCRIBE with Event call-info this as per RFC 4575. It appears Unify does not following RFC 4575 and rejects it with a 489 Bad Event
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4575#section-5.7.9.
I have checked the Unify documentation and see that the product is designed for Dialog Event Package which means that it is following RFC 4245 . Which means that the SIP SUBSCRIBE has to include a dialog event :
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4245
You can follow Steffen's FAQ indicated above for the Asterisk server .
