Thanks for the info! I have had it since Sept and it was like this right out of the box which is why I think it is a defective hardware issue since nothing comes up as an error when software is run for troubleshooting. Also, looking at videos, I can pin point where I hear the noise in the computer coming from and it is exactly where the fan is positioned.

I made an audio clip of the noise and uploaded it to clipchamp which I also shared with HP. Here is the link:

You'll need to put the volume up because I have an old phone that doesn't take very good audio clips. This is noise that is very noticeable and when the room is quiet can even be heard across the room.

Did you ever figure out a fix for this? I'm having the same problem

HP Recommended

No, I haven't unfortunately. I'm ready to throw the computer out the window. It's like a form of torture to hear this noise all day. I can't believe I am having this issue right out of the box. HP support was awful and very unpersonalized.

We have exactly the same problem, brand new and out of the box. PC Works fine apart from this. Must be a hardware issue in which case it needs returning. Has anyone got a solution?

HP Recommended

Still no solution on my end and I can't return. HP was no help at all with troubleshooting. Very disappointed. I know it's the fan and I may just replace it myself to see if it solves the issue. A shame they don't stand by their warranty.

There is no message at the link or the inbox envelope. I was also told from an HP rep the part number for the fan which turned out to be the wrong one for my pc.

There is no link, it's just redirects you back to this thread. Come on HP sort this out. If it's a hardware issue, which I suspect it is, then the PC's need recalling and sorting.

Yes I completely agree! Very disappointed in HP.
