I cannot figure out if the motherboard on my device will support a v4 ssd. I am looking to upgrade my current 128GB ssd to a 1TB ssd (Model Number: WDS100T2X0E. WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe™ SSD - 1TB) does anyone know where to find this info.

@Dboy54,

Yes, an M.2 NVMe SSD Gen4 drive is compatible with your AIO but will perform at Gen3 I/O speeds.

Thanks for the quick reply. So I guess if I find a better price on a v3 I may as well save some $ or is there any benefit to a v4?

@Dboy54,

That is correct -though quite a few Gen4 drives happen to be heavily discounted at this point in time. Perhaps check out the WD_BLACK SN770.

On the other hand, your M.2 drive will likely outlast your AIO, and could be transferred to a PC system that is Gen4+ compatible.

I have a Samsung 990Pro in my Victus 15L and it works fine, it just runs at PCIE3.0 speeds, is still slightly faster than the stock drive that was in it though.
