Looking to move from a mini desktop to a SFF - preferably something like the HP Pro Small Form Factor 400 G9. The intention is to 'tidy up' my external HD's.
I'm confused that for example the max 3.5" capacity as per the HP website is rated at just 2TB. Assume the same would be for a SATA 2.5" in a cradle. Currently I'm running an external WD 5TB pocket drive powered from a spare USB port so go figure me. Have spoken to HP support who refer me to the spec page which lists the capacity at 2TB. They (HP Support) have no idea whether you could drop say a 10TB 3.5" into the unit and it would be recognized in the BIOS.
So looking for advice here. Does anyone have experience of operating this unit with a higher capacity HD or whilst we're on the subject, is there any other SFF unit that will do so. Any input would be appreciated - thank you in advance.

For all intents and purposes, there is no capacity limit on an HDD/SDD in an HP Pro SFF 400 G9 Desktop, like this User shows with a 4TB HDD: HP Pro SFF 400 G9 Desktop PC Performance Results - UserBenchmark.
