Hello. In April I purchased a new HP 455 Programmable Wireless Keyboard from the HP store, but the batteries are running out after every few weeks of normal usage. I have been trying to contact HP for assistance, but the on-line help pages refuse to recognise the serial number printed on the back of the keyboard!

You are welcome.

Sure - "up to" any length of time longer than a couple of weeks makes more sense.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Accessories are not listed in the HP Support in-Warranty database.

The keyboard uses replaceable batteries --

2 x AAA batteries

Reference:  https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-455-programmable-wireless-keyboard

I'm not at all convinced that AAA batteries are included in the Warranty --

In the USA, this is a $40 keyboard --

Still, it would be nice if the original batteries lasted longer.

If you decide to purchase batteries, consider some better quality, long lasting replacements.

You can certainly wait here to see what an agent has to say about it.

Hi Dragon-Fur. Many thanks for your response. And although I fully agree with you about batteries not being included within any warranty , my issue is why are batteries draining so quickly - two weeks is surely not very long for normal office use? (I even turn it off overnight.) And I very rarely ever had to change the batteries in my previous HP wireless keyboard. Anyway, I have just re-registered the product on the HP site, so hopefully I might be able to get around the serial number issue then!

Sorry - I forgot to say that the HP specs for the keyboard says " Battery Life Up to 20 months (LEDs off)" ! As it stands, I'm getting just about 30 days...
