@mrfy,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Chances are you got a 180-watt power supply -please check what you got.  If you have a 180-watt power supply, pretty much the only GPU that you could install in your desktop is a low-profile GT 1030, which would give you not much graphics performance at all.

So, there are three power supply upgrades possible for your HP EliteDesk 800 G3/G4/G5 SFF platform: a 250-watt power supply (p/n: L08417-004), a 400-watt power supply (p/n: 942332-001), and a 500-watt power supply (p/n: L77487-003).

The 500-watt power supply is likely overkill for your purposes, so either the 250-watt or the 400-watt power supply should be the way to go.

With a 250- or 400-watt power supply you could choose a low-profile GTX 1650, a (low profile) RTX A2000, a low-profile RX 6400, a low-profile GTX 1050 Ti, a low-profile RX 550, and if you can find one, a low-profile RTX 3050.

Please not that some of these graphics cards may require a minor drives-bay modification (snip-snip) to make the graphics card fit, see (timestamp 2:14): Build Your Own Ultra Affordable Sff Gaming Pc For Less Than $300! (youtube.com).

If you haven't done so already, you can (should) install an M.2 NVMe SSD and make that your primary (boot) drive:

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
