Good evening community.

Asking for some help,

I just upgraded my SSD nvme m.2 for a bigger capacity.  it was cloned using Macrium reflect successfully.  right now, using my new SSD, I'm trying to enter safe mode to remove some drivers to install a new graphics card.  currently windows is not able to enter safe mode, after selecting option 4 it says, "windows did not reset successfully", I already tried multiple times and always the same response from windows.

windows is running perfectly on my new clone SSD, the only part not working is when I'm trying to enter safe mode. again, I'm trying to enter safe mode to remove drivers from my old gpu to install the new gpu.

thank you for your time and help.

Welcome back to the Forum.

You should be able to get to the WinRE if W11 is good to go by holding down the "Shift" key while doing a system restart.

Then select Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Settings.

Do a Restart.

Then select "Safe Mode".

I would say Macrium Reflect did not do a good job if you can't run Safe Mode on the cloned SSD.

Use "Fix problems using Windows Update" in Settings>System>Recovery. This option is supposed to be non-destructive. But you should back up data before doing a W11 in-place upgrade.

Possibly there is file corruption stopping safe mode from loading.

Run the system file checker SFC

This third party site explains how to use DISM and SFC to repair your windows system.

How to use SFC or DISM to repair Windows

if windows is working then run msconfig from the window search bar

Slick the boot tab and then select safe mode and the network option then click apply

do the opposite to return to normal boot.
